About Vastu

In the modern era, Vaastu has risen its branches World Wide. Now Most of the inmates are interested to show their properties to Vastu consultants or evaluate their houses as per Vastu Shastra. Vastu Shastra has emerged to make the life of humankind most fruitful, with the help of five elements i.e., EARTH, WATER, FIRE, AIR and SKY. The previous science has been updated for the present generation. Nothing emerged in this universe till today or will rise without or other than these five elements called Panchamahabhootas. Among them the first three are main to make good heaven, if they are not in order it will become hell.

The “VASTU” is derived from Sanskrit word “VASA” which means to live. Vastu shastra is the science which deals with the layout of the site and the building to be constructed. It also gives vast details about the construction of townships, complexes, malls, spiritual places etc. The main objective of this shastra is to provide harmony and prosperous living by eliminating negative and enhancing positive energies around us.

DIRECTIONS

In vastu the directions play an important role. Right knowledge of direction is very important to make vastu compliant building. Without knowing the directions, we cannot find out the mistakes as per vastu principles in the premises. Directions are the heart of a human body. The heart is a most important part of the human body, likewise, directions are also a very important part of a vastu shastra. No one can do vastu without knowledge of directions. How to find out the exact direction, in modern Era the technical instrument called magnetic compass is used to check the directions.

But in previous time people stand before sun, that is East means you are facing east direction, your back is west left-hand side is north and the right-hand side is south. These are Four cardinal directions EAST, WEST, NORTH SOUTH. Out of that four meeting point of these directions are sub directions. Every area is divided into eight parts East, South, West, North, North-East, South-East, South-West and North-West, each of these directions has a deity called Dikpala. Five elements are managed by Directions.

VASTU PURUSHA

The presiding deity of Vastu is called Vastu purusha. Vastu purusha is present in each and every plot whether it is big or small. He has a fixed and peculiar body. His head remains hanging down and his body is spread all over the length and breadth of the ground. There is an interesting story in Matsya Purana in which the birth of Vastu Purusha is narrated. Worship of vastu purusha is necessary before beginning construction of any building either commercial or residential. This is prescribed by our scriptures to propitiate the vastu purusha and to ward off the evil aspects.

In order to understand vastu shastra it is important to know about vastu purusha mandala, which is energy grid of square. The vastu purusha mandala is the basic form of architecture and figure is derived from this elementary design. Each direction is allotted a particular role by the vastu Ratnakar. Every part of vastu purusha body is sacred and contains energies that help us in living a contented and peaceful life.

PYRAMIDS

Pyramid has great significance both in vastu and feng shui. The pyramid is considered to be a structure which acts as a receiver of cosmic energy from the universe. It reduces stress and tension from dwellings, offices and from our bodies also. It promotes self-healing and helps in meditation as well. Placing pyramids is an effective and pocket friendly way is good for curbing all the vastu defects of a dwelling or a building. A statue of an elephant or a pair of elephants with their trunks raised upward direction should be kept at the main door of the house or office according to vastu shastra. It brings good luck and happiness in the house. In Hindu mythology elephant holds an important place, in some places people even worship elephant or elephant statue as symbol of god (Lord Ganesha). The elephant statue has its own importance according to vastu shastra, as well as feng shui. We can use it as home décor, to symbolize power, integrity and strength.

Elephants are the largest living mammals. They represent strength, protection, wisdom and good luck. Like a snow mountain, the elephant personifies dignity, majesty and power. There are two major positions, where we can place elephant statues to attract luck. The trunk in the downward direction represents ability to solve challenges and longevity. Contrary to popular belief, an elephant trunk in the downward direction, does not mean bad luck.
